Oakleaf house

I am still in the wild throws of passion with vintage dolls houses! My new little Triang arrived safely and there are a few more new arrivals!

Today I will share the newest which is my lovely 1981 Toyworks Oakleaf house. This was the British version of a Lundby house! I found it on Ebay and it came with a selection of furniture a transformer and even free delivery so after lots of deliberating I eventually managed to get Lindsay to buy it for me as an early Birthday pressie!

This is the back with a painted back door Its in brilliant condition with no tears or any damage!

This is the front as you see into the house. Its all open plan so you can access every room. I love the outside area and the big wrap around balcony.

It has its front door which is nice as I would imagine it could easily break with lots of playing going on!

It has plastic windows and shutters. It has all of these apart from one window pane!

I have purchased a few Lundby outdoor toys for the garden area. Not sure if I will get a car as it would have to be very narrow!

I love the outside space its like 2 extra rooms to dress!

I love this swing! I have used my Dol Toi family in here as they seemed to suit it so well with their bright colours!

Playing by the pool but too cold to go in!

Mum and her sister minding the baby whilst having a natter!

Temporary brolley til I can get one with the right table to go with the chairs!

The Oakleaf house had its own range of furniture some of which came with the house. The suite I purchased separately which is an Oakleaf set. The rest is Lundby/Barton. Most of which has come with other houses or in job lots I have bought. I love the colours they remind me so much of growing up in the 70's!

I was so pleased to get this light to work! Now I know the transformer is ok I can get some additional lights!

The table and chairs are Oakleasf but I think I will put something a bit more formal in here.

The Barton kitchen is so much fun so I def wanted to use that in here. Again everything I seemed to already have which helped!

The bathroom set is an Oakleaf one and has sadly yellowed quite badly. I have hidden the worst of it with a 'towel' but will try and whiten it at some point!

The teenage girls room! I used to love Jackie lol! She just needs a record player and some more 'stuff' like all teenagers have!

Finally the main bedroom. This set is prob a bit young for Mum and Dad but I like it so much it will stay for a while! Its lost its original bedding so I need to make some that matches better! This is a very sought after set and came inside another house I bought so again no extra pennies spent!

I hope you enjoyed the tour! This house is such a happy house and I am having the best fun ever filling it up with lots of 70's goodies!! :-) Next and update on the Triang which will be very soon!!

Triang 61E

My good friend Irene picked up my little vintage Triang house on Saturday and has kindly sent me lots of photos to drool over until I actually have it! I have found out its a 1957 Triang 61E Julie from the past and present forum is so knowledgeable and gave me lots of info! The rectangular Triang label was present from 1955/1956 but mine is the electrified version which seems was only available in 1957. The lady I bought it off said it had been given to her in the 1950s for Christmas so that would be right.

Here is Bob the cat kindly showing the scale!

The green base board has its original paint and is in great condition.

The battery compartment is at the back! It will be fun trying to get it to work! A job for my dad I think!

It has a sun lounge to the side.

The roof has a little amount of damage which I will restore. Hardly surprising considering its almost 60 years old!

The garage doors just need one new pin and some wax to give them a bit of a drink!

The windows are in lovely condition with the original curtains which don't seem at all faded!

It just needs a good clean and I can't wait to do it lol!

The floor and wall papers are original and are also lovely and bright no fading or water damage! Irene did comment it didn't at all smell meaning it hadn't been kept anywhere damp!

Its a lovely little house and just perfect for my little 1950's Grecon family!

It came complete with a nice original selection of early Barton furniture. There is also a chimney but apparently this model should of had 2!

I also got some lovely little bedding sets made for my Ivy cottage. The lady sells on Ebay but made these to fit my beds. They are so cute and pretty and really good value too!

She asked the colours and lets you pick the fabrics. I thought this one had a lovely old fashioned feel to it! Don't they just look adorable! They make such a massive difference to the room!

I also have 2 new dolls to add to my collection. These were a gift from Julie on the P & P forum. they are 1/12 scale and have lovely detailed faces!

My first vintage house Ivy Cottage

My gorgeous little vintage cottage arrived safely on Wednesday which was very quick! It was pefect apart from a misplaced fireplace which is now firmly back in place! I have to say this little house has got me so excited about minis again! I think I was getting a bit complacent with my village but having something different to look for has really got me feeling the mini love again lol!!

I have already made a few changes although it was very lovely!

I have added the shutters as I got them for a great price of a FB friend. They really make the house look even cuter!

I have also added the dreaded lights! I haven't used vintage ones that was beyond me so I went with smaller 1/12th ones which look fine.

I removed the flooring paper from the kitchen and the hallway. Its such a cosy house with the gorgeous wood I felt that the grey paper made it feel cold!

I have bought a couple of little bargains from Ebay just to start me off as it would have been too sad having it empty!

The furniture is so tiny and cute and I love that its old and the children that played with it are prob my age now!

After some consideration I decided to change the wallpaper in the upstairs bedroom. The pattern was a bit big but it had been so neatly done I still felt bad taking it all off!

I have borrowed the bed from the holiday let as its a Sylvanian one so around the 1/16 scale. The other bits were in a box of things my Mum gave me!

The rooms are really generous and the house itself is not much small than Porthole so I did wonder about putting 1/12 scale stuff in at the beginning. Just to show you when I put a 1/12 bed in there you really get a sense of the room proportions as it looks huge!

After taking the hallway paper up it seemed a little dark so I changed the mushroom carpet for cream to lighten it up a bit. I also bought the little Lundby pram as I have always wanted one!

In the front room is my little bargain Barton spotty suite. Its so cute and is really in as new condition which I wasn't expecting!

It looks lovely with a couple of Junes little union Jack cushions that were a little small for my other houses but perfect for this one!!

Today I persuaded Lindsay to put the shelf up for me! It looks just perfect in position and its exactly the house I had in my mind when I imagined it!! Its the perfect height to open up and see right in and above my favourite £10 bootsale tapestry chair! I haven't changed the rest of the room just yet although I am itching too! I have really warm bedding on at the mo and I think I am going to need that for the next few weeks so I will hang fire just for now!

Just look at how exactly it fits the shelf like it was made for it!

I couldn't have a house with no people living in it that would be so sad! I saw this little girl on Ebay and fell in love with her!

And she needed some parents so I won these today! No idea if they were a good price lol I think they were! At just under £20 for a pair of dolls over 50 years old in good condition they seemed great value to me! There is lots of things you can buy but the dolls are harder to come by unless you get the plastic Lundby ones but they aren't right for my little house These traditionally little English dolls are just perfect! Now I just need Grandpa and Grandpa as sadly I was outbid on those lol! Oh and a dog it has to have a dog!
